A Nice Set

This past summer, Thirty-four artists from various international cities and backgrounds were invited to create one of a kind sets of slip mats (you know, those floppy round felt things DJ’s put underneath their records to keep them from scratching) for a new art exhibit called A Nice Set. Each participant was given a pair of simple white, felt discs and very few instructions. Left to their own creative devices, and working separately from studios all across the globe, the artists created a wildly diverse collection of slip mats, featuring all measure of artistic, musical, pop cultural and political references.

The results are currently on world tour, check out the “Exhibit” section of this site to see when the collection will be stopping in your city.
